I hereby Certify that there is due and payable to the Heirs or Representatitves of , out of the City Treasury of the City of , Ills., thirteen dollars and fifty Cents, for his services as a City Counsellor of said in the year 1842, which the will pay.—
At the 30 January 1843 Nauvoo City Council meeting, the council ordered that various city officers, including Knight, be paid for their services. Notations indicate that certificates were made out to each of them. This transaction was recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger on 20 February 1843.
