The of the City of , will pay Nineteen Dollars and fifty Cents, being for his services as a member of the City Council of said up to this date, including three Dollars for engraving a Seal for the Municipal Court.—
At the 30 January 1843 Nauvoo City Council meeting, the council ordered that various city officers, including Hills, be paid for their services. Notations indicate that certificates were made out to each of them. This transaction was recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger on 31 January 1843.
