I hereby Certify that the sum of six dollars and fifty Cents has been this day allowed by the City Council to be paid to , out of the City Treasury, which amount the will please pay said .— Given under my hand, and the Corporation Seal, at , Ills Jany.. 30th. 1843.—
At the 30 January 1843 Nauvoo City Council meeting, the council ordered that various city officers, including Lyman, be paid for their services. Notations indicate that certificates were made out to each of them. This transaction was recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger on 21 March 1843.
